Southern Nevada Solar Home Tour |
LAST REMINDER - Tomorrow - Saturday, October 7! |
| |
This is one of two beautiful straw bale homes on the tour.
|
|
Pre-registration ends today. This year's tour could be a sell out so get there early if you plan to attend! Visit the Southern Nevada Solar Home Tour web pages to learn more.
When you get to The Gardens, please take some time to visit our exhibitors' tables. There will be a lot of useful information and some great folks to meet! |
Special Announcement: This event is now CARBON FREE!
Solar NV is committed to being a part of the solution. Therefore, all CO2 emissions for every vehicle on the tour (yes, even yours!) have been offset by supporting solar and wind power projects elsewhere through CarbonFund.org.
This helps speed the transition to renewable energy and neutralizes the event’s greenhouse gas emissions. Please drive safely and enjoy the experience with a clean, carbon free conscience! |

This month's meeting will feature a presentation by Robert Buntjer of the Electrical JATC for Southern Nevada. He will talk about his organization's excellent training program for electricians who install solar electric systems. This program helps the local solar industry, enhancing safety, quality and professionalism.
Solar NV meetings are a great way to learn more about renewable energy and to network with others who share common interests.
Everyone, including nonmembers,
are welcome to attend Solar NV meetings so please feel free to invite

Klai Juba Lecture Series |
The first lecture of this series, by Edward Mazria, was phenomenal. For more information on his work, a key strategy for dealing with the climate crises, visit www.architecture2030.org.
The theme of this fall’s series is “The 2030 Challenge: Environmental Design in the Face of Climate Change” and there are still three more lectures in the series.
Thanks to architecural firm Klai::Juba for sponsoring these excellent events.
See the calendar listings below that include links to all the details. |
New Look for ASES Web Site |
The American Solar Energy Society, our parent organization, has a fresh new look for its web site. Changes are still in the works and not all pages have been updated yet, but it's looking good!
Check it out at www.ases.org. You will find some excellent information there. For example, if you have not yet read "Common Sense," it is well worth the effort. You can find it on the ASES site or download it directly by clicking here. (504kb PDF) This document is truly full of Common Sense! |
